High – Must be prepared for coronation measures until Christmas

The case is being updated.

On Friday afternoon, the government held a press conference on the status of the crown. Prime Minister Erna Solberg, Minister of Health and Care Services Bent Høie, Minister of Justice and Emergency Management Monica Mæland and Minister of Children and Family Affairs Kjell Ingolf Ropstad were present at the press conference.

Measurements at Christmas

– When we presented the first national austerity measures, we emphasized that we wanted them to have such an effect that Christmas was as normal as possible. When we presented the second group of national austerity measures, we also said that it was with the wish that Christmas would become more normal, he said at the government press conference on the situation of the crown on Friday.

– But the development has now gone in such a negative direction that we must be prepared for the fact that there may also be measures during Christmas. It is important that we do not let ourselves go too soon to lose control, he continued.

Minimum possible contact

At the press conference on the status of the crown on Friday, the Prime Minister expressed concern that the increase in infection in recent weeks has been large in the age group 13-19 years.

– You too should have as little contact as possible with others, keep a good distance from those with whom you are, wash your hands well and be at home when you are sick, Solberg said to the young woman, before adding:

– Remember that we do it in solidarity with the elderly and other vulnerable groups, so that we do not have to have similarly strict measures throughout the month of December and that we can celebrate Christmas with those we love.

– Good team work

It has been a challenge to reach various immigrant groups with information about the coronavirus, but now Erna Solberg (H) experiences collaboration so well.

– We know that it is a challenge to reach all immigrant groups with correct information. These are groups that follow the Norwegian news broadcasts less. That is why it has been important for us to work with those who are close to spreading information, the Prime Minister said at the government press conference on the situation of the crown on Friday.

– Now I feel that we have a good collaboration with immigrant groups throughout the country. Health services are also good at using health personnel with an immigrant background to come up with information, he continued.

Complete shutdown is still possible

If the measures now in place do not lead to a reduction in infection, a complete “lockdown” is possible, according to Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H).

A closure of this type, where only the absolutely necessary works will be carried out, is part of the measures that the government plans if the situation worsens.

– But now we are not, emphasized the prime minister at a press conference on the situation of the crown on Friday.

There are other countries in Europe that have closed significantly more than Norway, and it appears that infection rates may drop again, he notes.

Hang out in individual groups

The foreign-born proportion of those infected with corona at week 45 was 37 percent, according to the weekly report from the National Institute of Public Health. The number of inmates with COVID-19 born outside of Norway was 54 percent.

Solberg also encouraged people not to hang out with individual groups and accuse them of spreading the infection in society.

– Then it’s not okay. We must take care of each other, not goad each other.
