The Vålerenga coach is not enthusiastic about the leaks, but he has a clear idea of who should be the next coach of the Norway team.
INTILITY ARENA / OSLO CENTER (Nettavisen): On Monday, the Norwegian national team regrouped its troops after a few turbulent weeks. As the European Championship place rose after the disappointing 1-2 loss to Serbia, and subsequent victories against Romania and Northern Ireland, the much-discussed national team feud emerged with Lars Lagerbäck and Alexander Sørloth in the main roles.
Since then, the main characters themselves have agreed to put the noise behind them and look forward to the next national matches in November.

At Monday’s press conference, Lagerbäck declined to comment further on the matter.
– We have not gathered the whole group yet, so we could not speak. As for what happened in the previous collection, I have left it behind, so I have no further comment on it, says Lagerbäck.

– Unacceptable
One who has watched the events of recent weeks from the outside is Dag-Eilev Fagermo. The Vålerenga manager is often outspoken and known for having strong opinions on what happens in football.
– Exactly about that I don’t know enough, but in general I like that the coaches decide and that the players are hungry to play for the national team and the club without complaining, Fagermo tells Nettavisen after Vålerenga’s 2-0 win over Odd on Sunday night.
– On the other hand, we must tolerate people saying no. I do that here in Vålerenga and ask for the opinion of the players, it happens that they too can hit the table here. We must not underestimate the competition that exists in a group of players, because there are also adults. I think using the experience of others is very good, he continues.

– How did you handle a situation where someone within the player group had talked about something they weren’t happy with?
– Leaks that damage the team or group, I think they are negative. That is not acceptable, because we are a kind of family. Things can happen within the four walls of the house that we have to keep there, but there must be a ceiling height within those walls, responds the VIF trainer.
Wants Solbakken
The 53-year-old is clear that he believes Lars Lagerbäck has done a good job as coach of the Norwegian national team, but he still has a clear idea of who should replace the Swede.
– I must say that Lagerbäck has done well with Norway, but if we are to change, I hope it will be Ståle Solbakken, he says.

The coach of Vålerenga wants to justify the reason.
– You have done a good job, but when you feel you have done your part, I think it is Solbakken who should be a clear candidate. It may be old-fashioned, but I want a coach from the Norwegian team, because it should be an award for the best coaches in Norway to coach the biggest flagship. Just as it motivates players to improve, it also motivates coaches to improve, he says firmly.

Odd’s former coach doesn’t mean there’s no patriotism in it, it’s more about coach development.
– That’s why I want Ståle when Lagerbäck feels he’s finished, he says.
– Is it a goal for you to get that job in the future?
– No, I’m a club coach. I will coach Vålerenga, says the veteran coach with a wide smile.

One who has had Fagermo and Lagerbäck as coaches is current national team player Sondre Rossbach. Odd’s keeper was also present at the meeting when it crashed in October.
On Monday, he will meet again for a meeting for Norway.
– A lot was written, but as the captain said, it is important that we are together and look forward to the coming matches, Rossbach tells Nettavisen and refers to Stefan Johansen’s statements after the collection.
Rossbach says the dialogue is dead on his part and he doesn’t want to contribute further comment on it.
Norway faces Israel in a private international match at Ullevaal Stadium on Wednesday, before playing the Nations League away matches against Romania and Austria on Saturday and Wednesday of next week respectively.
