Joe Biden rounded out the waltz celebration with a song by Kygo on Sunday night.
At quarter to three on Sunday night, Joe Biden took the stage in Wilmington, Delaware to give his victory speech after winning the US election.
– People have voiced their opinion, Biden told the large crowd.
– I am humbled by the trust they place in me. I don’t want to divide, but to gather.
After the speech, First Lady Jill Biden took the stage.
When Joe Biden put his arms around her for a hug, the Bergen tones were suddenly heard from the huge speaker system.
The incoming presidential couple greeted the American people with the first gong of Kygo’s song “Higher Love.”
“Higher Love” was originally written by Steve Winwood, who had a hit with the song in 1986.
Later, Whitney Houston recorded a cover version, which never appeared on any album.
He chose Kygo to remix and breathed new life into the song.
– I tried to do well as something that she would do, but also something that is my style, Kygo said about the Rolling Stone song in 2019.
The new presidential couple greeted the crowd that had turned up for the song.
Then the rest of the Biden family took the stage.
Several members of the new presidential family also took the stage for a small dance.
