Dagbladet is aware that Bjerke Frp is rejecting Aina Stenersen (Frp) for third place in next year’s parliamentary elections.
The Oslo Frp nominating committee nominated Stenersen for the important third place. But in an email that was sent to the nominating committee Wednesday night, Maria Zähler is proposed in charge of Stenersen. Zähler is the author of the Resett website.
Third place on the list has given him a deputy seat in the Storting this term, but Oslo Frp hopes to have three permanent representatives in the next term.
Maria Zähler tells Dagbladet that she wants the third place that Bjerke Frp will give her now.
– I am very honored by this and I think it is a good idea. Aina Stenersen is a very talented and personable woman, but now Oslo needs a little renovation, says Zähler.
Aina Stenersen has not responded to Dagbladet’s investigation into the case.
Three women want power in Oslo Frp. Two of them don’t like the third very much
– Don’t think I’m retiring
In the background of the nominations campaign, FRP’s Nestor Carl I. Hagen is on the prowl. On October 25, he won the battle for 1st place on Oppland Frp’s parliamentary election list, but he also wants to stand for election in Oslo, in exactly the same third place Zähler is now challenging Stenersen for.
– We have a lot of good people in Frp, so we will probably get a good candidate no matter what. It is important that we capture the voters of Oslo, young and old. I think I can contribute to that, says Zähler.
Four years ago, Aina Stenersen was nominated for fourth place. At that point, he resigned his place after Carl I. Hagen threatened to compete.
Dagbladet is aware that the Oslo Frp circle that supports Zähler no wants her to step aside for Carl I. Hagen, if he wants third place out loud.
– Does he fold if Hagen says he wants third place?
– I do not relate to that right now, but I do not think I will withdraw, answers Maria Zähler.
Oslo Frp “coup attempt” failed: top of Carl I. Hagen’s list won
Distrust “in a way”
Aina Stenersen has faced opposition in Oslo Frp before. In 2018, in what was described as an attempted coup, more liberal forces in Oslo Frp tried to remove her from the top of the list ahead of the 2019 municipal elections.
The actual nomination meeting in Oslo Frp will take place on December 5. Hagen has been rejected by the nominating committee, but he can still fight there.
– Bjerke Frp knows Maria more as a journalist at Resett, and she represents almost the same as us. It is about a sustainable development of the welfare state and a critical look at immigration policy. Maria also has a person and an appearance that are important: She is a wise person who presents things in a good way, says Adeleid Haugen, a board member of Bjerke Frp, to Dagbladet.
– Is this mistrust of Aina Stenersen?
– Yes, in a way. We want Zähler on the list at Aina Stenersen’s expense. Maria Zähler is a young voice with the future ahead. New costs are needed at Oslo Frp. So first of all, this is a way of expressing trust in Zähler, not distrust in Stenersen.
Several warnings about Frp top
I did not speak to Hagen
Adeleid Haugen adds that Bjerke Frp on previous priorities has made it clear that the home team prefers Carl I. Hagen.
– So why don’t you nominate Hagen over Zähler?
– The home team has not contacted Hagen about this, and he doesn’t know if he wants us to nominate him, so this has not been brought to the fore with us. But it’s important for us to emphasize that Bjerke Frp wants both Zähler and Hagen to be as high on the nomination list as possible behind Siv Jensen and Christian Tybring-Gjedde, responds Haugen.
