A Romerike woman was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for raping and abusing her two children.
The father was also convicted of abusing the two children, who were between the ages of three and six when the abuse mentioned in the indictment began in early 2016.
The Upper Romerike District Court sentenced the mother to the severest punishment, including for raping the children, for repeatedly beating them and for showing one of them a pornographic film.
The father was also convicted of violence against the two children. It must have hit them mainly. He was not charged with the rape of the children and the court sentenced him to five months in prison.
The mother must pay at the same time 250,000 crowns in reparation to her two children, while the father must pay 50,000 to each of them.
None of them pleaded guilty after the indictment.
The case was settled after a kindergarten employee reported to the child welfare service after hearing the mother threaten to hit one of the children if he did not listen. Later, the boy in kindergarten explained that he was beaten by his mother.
The child welfare service reported the parents to the police in 2017 after closely following them for a year. In 2018, the children were transferred to a foster home, where they have lived ever since.
