Near the synagogue
The shooting is said to have taken place near a synagogue in the district. The Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung reports that the shooting could be a direct attack on the synagogue.
This has not been officially confirmed. The director of the synagogue in question, Oskar Deutsch, writes on Twitter that the shooting took place near the synagogue, but the shots were apparently not aimed at the synagogue.
