– I think a lot about the girl who is left without a mother. We want to help the afflicted, says Zhila Karim from Oslo.
She is behind the fundraising campaign.
– The Turkish environment supports each other, says Karim.
“She was separated from her family in an abrupt and brutal way. A family that loved her very much,” she writes in Spleis.
On Friday, Cansel Godek, 22, was found dead at his home in Evje.
That same night, the ex-girlfriend was arrested and charged with murder.
Imprisoned for four weeks
They have a 2.5 year old daughter together. The child is cared for by relatives and child welfare.
The man is 20 years old and originally from Afghanistan.
He arrived in Norway in 2015.
The man has previously had a connection with Evje, but now lives in another part of the country.
On Monday, he was in preventive detention for four weeks.
– In addition, the police are working both tactically and technically on the case, both with the questioning of witnesses and with work at the crime scene, the Agder police district writes in a press release.
The defendant acknowledges the facts, according to the police.
– He’s having a hard time, says defender Bjørge Tveito to NRK.
A shock to the people
On Sunday, a memorial service for Godek was organized in the center of Evje.
She is originally from Vanse in Farsund, and moved to Evje 17 years ago, according to Lister24.
The small town of Setesdal shudders after the murder.
– Everyone knows everyone here. This is a great, great tragedy, says Aziz Mozaffar.
He runs Milano Pizza and Kebab in the center of Evje.
Mozaffar knows both the 22-year-old deceased and his ex-girlfriend, who are now charged with murder.
– I don’t know the family well, but I know who they are, he says.
Had fought
On Friday night, the man himself called the police and told them that he had had an argument with his ex-girlfriend and that she was dead.
The arrest came without drama, according to police.
The 22-year-old deceased grew up in Vanse in Farsund, according to Lister24.
Godek and his family were welcoming and loving, friends and acquaintances told the newspaper.
A crisis team was created shortly after the tragic incident in Evje.
Mayor Svein Arne Hauge in Evje and Hornnes Municipality previously told NRK that they defend the afflicted.
– What happened is terribly sad.
