An acquaintance of the deceased lays flowers. She doesn’t want to be named, but says they were in the same environment. She tells him that Evje is a town where everyone knows everyone and that the entire town is in mourning.
– It’s absolutely awful. He couldn’t sleep and just thought that now a person had been removed from life too soon. Everyone wonders what happened.
The woman says that she has lived in Evje for 17 years and that she has had a great time in the village. She says she never thought something like this could happen in Evje.

The mayor of the Evje municipality, Svein Arne Hauge, told NRK that they will defend the afflicted.
– What has happened is terribly sad. On the part of the municipality, I can say that last night we already put in crisis teams to attend to those who need it.
Arrested on the spot
The defendant was arrested on the spot. The arrest was carried out without drama, police say.
Based on NRK’s experience, the man is said to have been arrested after a person was found dead at the scene.
An area around a house in the center of Evje- and Hornnes is cordoned off. It is a building with several rental homes.
Criminal technicians on the way
Police at the scene inform NRK that they are in the initial phase of the investigation and cannot come up with any further information.
– We are now awaiting forensic assistance, says Task Leader Stian Pauschert.

Fædrelandsvennen writes that the first police car must have arrived at the scene at 9:20 PM on Friday night.
– Policemen with MP5 weapons ran towards a building. Then paramedics followed. Police came out with a handcuffed man in his 20s and put him in the police car, a witness told the newspaper.
