Women from a total of ten aircraft are said to have been screened next after a newborn baby was found at Doha airport.

Says Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne, who says the country received information about it on Tuesday night.

It was first reported that only passengers on a Qatar Airways plane were heading to Sydney from Doha. On October 2, 18 women, including 13 from Australia, were ordered out of the plane and into an ambulance on the Doha tarmac, where, according to the Australian Sydney Morning Herald, they were examined. According to the Australian ABC, some of the women have stated that they did not consent to the investigations.

Payne has described the investigations as “extremely inappropriate” and “offensive,” and has said the case will be followed up through diplomatic channels.

– The treatment of women was unacceptable and terrible, says Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison according to Australian ABC, adding that his authorities will work so that something similar does not happen again.

The investigations began after the discovery of a newborn baby in a bathroom at the airport in the Qatari capital.

In addition, it indicates that an investigation of the case has been opened and that the results will be shared with international partners. The statement does not mention anything about the women subjected to forced examinations, but refers to a “search for the parents.”

According to the statement, the baby was found abandoned in a trash can, wrapped in a plastic bag. The baby must be in good shape and cared for by social workers and health professionals.
