The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions confirms Tuesday night that the union will take out another 229 members on strike starting Monday morning.
The ongoing strike is the longest in the history of the security industry. The strike began on September 16.
The withdrawal from the strike consists of many newly registered members. In addition, the security guards at Kvaerner Stord, Kvaerner Verdal, Equinor Rotvoll and the Råde National Arrivals Center will be on strike.
When the strike intensifies, about 2,400 union guards from the Norwegian Workers’ Union and Parat will go on strike.
Parat’s adviser Ståle Botn confirms to E24 that they are also working on a new strike, but have not yet decided when they want to go one step further.
Earlier this month, the two unions and NHO Service og handel were summoned to mandatory mediation by the Ombudsman. After about eleven hours, it became clear that the mediation did not lead.
The strike, among other things, led to the closure of the Oslo bus terminal at 8 p.m., NTB writes.
