Five people tested positive for covid-19 on Thursday 10.22.
All of his close contacts were quarantined and screened Thursday afternoon / evening, and a department at Gulset’s kindergarten was asked to stay home until further notice.
Yesterday, the Venstøp school third grade was placed in close contact quarantine, the quarantine expires on 10/26 and students and employees who have been quarantined can return to school on 10/27.
Close contact quarantine is applied from the last close contact with the detected infected person.
Today, the results for the student at the Stigeråsen school in the seventh grade and the child in the Gulset kindergarten were also clear, with the result that another school had to be quarantined, and the children and employees in the wing from the Gulset kindergarten which have been closed since Friday 23.10, must also be in quarantine.
Gulset Kindergarten:
Therefore, all children and employees of the corresponding wings in the Gulset kindergarten are in close contact quarantine and will be offered the covid-19 test tonight at 25.10 or tomorrow at 26.10.
It can be challenging to test young children, the most important thing will be that they quarantine, but everyone will be offered a test.
Research on the epidemic so far shows that children are likely to be infected to the same extent as adults, but are less contagious than adults. Sick children can infect others, but it is common for them to infect others in the same household. If desired, a test can be offered to the parents instead of the child.
The quarantine period for children and employees at Gulset kindergarten expires on 10/29, and if everyone tests negative and does not develop symptoms during this period, everyone can return to kindergarten on 10/30.
Stigeråsen School:
All seventh grade Stigeråsen school students and staff will be recommended and offered the covid-19 test tonight at 25.10 or tomorrow at 26.10.
The quarantine period for seventh grade Stigeråsen school students and staff expires on 10/31, and if everyone tests negative and develops no symptoms during this period, everyone can return to school on 11/01
Venstøp School:
So far, no positive cases related to the Venstøp school have been reported, and we hope and believe that if no positive cases are reported tomorrow afternoon, Monday, 10/26, related to this covid-19 case, all these tests will be negative.
The test team and infection tracking team are now working with mapping and testing, and so far we don’t have an overview of how many will be on tests in total in relation to Stigeråsen school and Gulset kindergarten.
