Fauske Municipality writes in a press release that three of them are guest workers residing in Bodø Municipality. Of the other 3, 1 person lives in the municipality of Fauske, while the other 2 are guest workers with residence in the municipality. Infection tracing has been carried out, people have been isolated and close contacts have been quarantined.
Early Sunday, the Bodø Municipality wrote in a press release that there are three new cases of infection in the Bodø Municipality. As of Sunday night, it is unclear if these three are the people Fauske Township mentions in the press release.
The Fauske Township further writes that so far they have the Fauske Township has so far tested 2788 people. In total as of 10/25/2020, 5 are isolated and 34 in quarantine. Since March this year, 30 people have been confirmed to be infected.
– We experience that the municipality and Elkem have collaborated very well in the most important thing, protecting people. Good collaboration is absolutely crucial to success, says Fauske municipal chief physician Gregory Hautois.
Ove Sørdahl, plant manager at Elkem Salten, says they have and are taking the situation very seriously.
– When we saw the outlines of more than individual cases of infection, in collaboration with the municipality of Fauske we immediately began testing all the people in the energy recovery project. Openness and good cooperation are the key to being successful in fighting infection, says Sørdahl.
– The fact that only contracted personnel who have worked on the energy recovery project have been proven infected shows that we have managed to keep people who have worked on operations and projects separate. At the same time, these are six more cases of infection. As a result, we will review all the routines in the dining areas, barracks, common equipment, and more to see what we can do better. We will also consider stricter measures in testing to detect new cases to a greater extent as soon as possible, says Sørdahl.
