Police write that the boy was brought in on Sunday.
The child is charged under article 299 of the Penal Code, rape of children under 14 years of age. According to the Penal Code, all sexual acts with children under the age of 14 must be considered rape.
The accused has no prior relationship with the girl.
The five-year-old girl was raped on her way home from Breidablikk school in Trondheim on Friday.
– Both are from Trondheim and do not live very far from each other, says police lawyer Bente Bøklepp in the Trøndelag police district on TV 2.
I think they have the right person
The police write that through electronic leads, video surveillance and witness statements, they have perceived that the boy was in the area at the time the action occurred.

– On this basis, the police arrested and questioned him. During interrogation, he has been linked to the crime scene at the relevant time, but today he does not want to explain more about what happened, says Bøklepp in a press release.
The police further write that they believe they have found the right person.
– Are there witnesses to the incident itself?
– Not that we have managed to get in touch, says Bøklepp to TV 2.
She says they have also conducted a survey in the area where the incident occurred.

Since the accused is under the minimum criminal age of 15 years, the child welfare service will continue to do so.
– There has been a lot of advice on the case and people have given us important follow-up material. We want to thank everyone who has helped us with the information, says Bøklepp.
The police attorney says there are several interrogations left in the case.
– So far we have questioned one of the defendant’s parents, says Bøklepp.
Before the weekend, the police shared a photo of a person they wanted to contact. The person in question, a woman, has the status of witness in the case.
