Savings were stolen, now they are downgraded by people who want to tip

On Friday, TV 2 spoke about Pernille (8) who had 2000 kronor stolen from her wallet on a trip to the city with her mother and a friend. Then the father fell on the person or persons who had stolen money from a child.

Now there are messages and money transfers from people all over the country, and the family is impressed with all the care.

– There are good wishes, people send messages and show compassion, and we really appreciate it, says Dad Eric Støle Karlsen.

At the same time, he says they never intended to make money by sharing the story.

– We do not want to be ungrateful, but we as parents have already replaced the money that was lost. It is not the intention that others send their own weekly salary, says Støle Karlsen.

Spend the money

The family has chosen to say no to the money they make contact, but they still receive transfers from tippers without speaking to them first.

So, together with Pernille, they have decided to pass the money on to someone who really needs it.

– We have decided to give the money that goes into the Childhood Cancer Association, since these are children who need the money more than we do, says Karlsen.

– Many give us money because it is a child we are talking about, so we argue that we would give the money to other children, he explains.

The family has asked everyone who has sent money if they are doing well to pass it on to the association, and has only received a positive response.

– The principle that was important

Now they want people who want to contribute to send money to the Childhood Cancer Association and say that those who have already tipped can be sure the money goes there.

He says it was the beginning that was important for the family to pass on, and the awareness of being able to make up for it after a wrong action.

– The most important thing for us is that people take the conversation that the right thing to do is return the money. You are allowed to waste time, repent and make amends, he explains.
