The growing spread of the coronavirus in the United States worries experts, who see no signs that the trend is reversing.

According to the New York Times, there were more than 79,000 new cases in the United States on Friday, while the Washington Post reports more than 82,600 new cases.

Both figures break the record for new cases of contagion in one day since July 16, when more than 77,000 new cases of contagion were registered.

After a spike in infection in July, infection in the US decreased, but in the past two weeks it has increased again.

According to the United States health authorities, it was in. 14 registered just over 74,000 new cases of infection on October 23. The VG overview shows the same trend.

The United States is the country with the most cases of infection and the highest number of deaths so far in the pandemic.

According to the New York Times, 13 states have set a record number of infections over a seven-day period in the past week, and six states have hit a tangent or set a dismal new record for deaths in the same period.

The Washington Post writes that 24 states have set a record for the number of new cases of infection in one day in the past two weeks, and that the number of hospital admissions has increased in as many as 38 states in the past week.

– The infection has increased and increased, week after week. There has been no indication that it is going to decline, Tom Inglesby of the Center for Health Safety at the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health tells the New York Times.

According to Boston University epidemiologist Eleanor J. Murray, it is impossible to say when this wave of infections will peak.

– In the last wave, we overcome it by moving health personnel. This is not possible when the virus is increasing everywhere. Furthermore, this wave starts out much higher than the previous one, and will continue to rise until the people or authorities decide to do something about it, he tells the Washington Post.

In total, the United States has recorded more than 8.4 million cases of infection and more than 220,000 deaths.

America’s handling of the coronavirus has been discussed frequently in the U.S. election campaign and could be one of the deciding factors in whether Donald Trump is re-elected or whether Joe Biden takes over the White House.

Trump, for his part, claims that they have done a brilliant job and that if they had not taken the measures they have taken, many more Americans would have lost their lives.

– I have been congratulated by many heads of state for what we have achieved, Trump said during the presidential debate on Thursday, where he also said that there are only “weeks” left for a vaccine.

During two election rallies in Florida on Friday, Trump joked with Joe Biden’s proposal that they are heading into a dark winter, Reuters writes.

“We will end this epidemic quickly,” Trump said.

Joe Biden, for his part, believes that the president has not done enough and has no plan to combat the pandemic.

– The way the president has responded to this crisis has been utterly miserable, said Biden during the debate, who shared more about his corona plan on Friday during a voter meeting on Friday.

The Biden campaign has also criticized Trump for organizing voter rallies with thousands of supporters, many of whom do not wear masks or maintain social distance.
