Importer Baza Nordic has chosen to recall a batch of Mohn MAK poppy seeds. The reason is the discovery of too high a content of natural morphine in a single batch of the product, Matportalen reports.
It is common for poppy seeds to contain natural morphine, but the batch in question contains too high values, it is claimed.
The batch has the article number 44003 and expiration date 05.25.2021.
The Mohn MAK batch has been recalled and is no longer in stores, but 300 cases of the product have been sold in grocery stores in eastern Norway, Bergen, Trondheim and Ålesund.
Baza Nordic asks consumers who have purchased the item to either throw it away or return it to the store where they purchased it.
