Frisk Asker player Mats Hildisch (18) suffered a broken neck during the under-21 hockey game between Frisk Asker and Lørenskog on Saturday. The 18-year-old was diagnosed this week with permanent spinal cord damage, resulting in paralysis.
Now he has spoken for the first time after the tragic accident.

In addition, he writes that he will be transferred to a rehabilitation center next Monday.

– I am willing to work harder than ever. I really appreciate all the messages of support and it’s golden to have him in this situation, Hildisch concludes, followed by number 7, which is his suit number.
– Terribly heavy
Hildisch had a collision with the goal during Saturday’s game. It is said that he was hooked by an opposing club on his way to Lørenskog’s goal and hit the post at high speed, head and upper body first.
After undergoing surgery on Sunday night, doctors concluded that the 18-year-old had suffered a permanent spinal cord injury that had led to paralysis.
– It has been a terribly heavy and sad day. The whole situation is unreal. Today we have talked a lot and we have tried to do what we can. We just have to take care of each other, Frisk Asker CEO Nicolay Sørensen told TV 2 on Monday.
– I’m shocked by what happened. It is a terrible message to receive. My son goes to school with Mats and I have watched him grow up in Askerhallen. It’s incredibly sad that something like this could happen, said TV 2 hockey expert Bjørn Erevik.
