Last week it emerged that a popular Norwegian pop artist had to appear in Oslo District Court after being arrested in the 108 km / h 50 zone. The incident occurred in May at Sande in Vestfold, and the defendant was driving a Mercedes with 200 horsepower when stopped.
The man is well known in the Norwegian music industry and has played in one of the most popular bands in the country. The man has John Christian Elden as a defender. Elden has previously stated that his client has gone to bed.
Now the pop star has been sentenced. On Tuesday night, Nettavisen writes that the artist has been sentenced to 16 days in unconditional prison and that his driver’s license will be deducted for a period of 21 months.

The artist claims that he did not see the sign as informed that he was driving in zone 50. The court did not take this into account.
“The court believes that the clear starting point is unconditional imprisonment for driving in the 108 km / h 50 zone, as in this case. The defendant has explained that he did not see the sign with 50 zones. In the opinion of the court, this cannot be considered as special circumstances in terms of driving, driving conditions or personal circumstances that may indicate a different reaction to the clear starting point mentioned above, ”the sentence states.
Dagbladet has read the verdict, where it appears that the convicted artist does not appeal the staff measure.

Elden tells Nettavisen that his client adopted the verdict on the spot and wants to finish the case.
– The court reduced the stall time by two months, so we can see you a little earlier behind the wheel again. Fortunately, the court ruled that he had only been inattentive and had not deliberately neglected the reduced speed sign on the highway, he says.
Dagbladet has so far been unable to contact the artist. The online newspaper writes that it does not want to comment on the case.
