Weather, snowfall | First snow of this year in southern Norway

The snow announced its arrival at higher areas in several places in southern and eastern Norway on Tuesday night, but no incidents have been reported on the roads.

The Eastern Police District Police report several road accidents, especially in Romerike.

– The police ask everyone to drive in accordance with the conditions and put on winter tires before driving on the conditions in which it is demanding, the call is.

Just before 07:00, the eastern police district reports a traffic accident on the E6 near Jessheim.

The Innlandet police district also reports a slippery road: at 06.16, they reported a car running off the road at low speed at Fossvegen in Elverum, with no injuries or damage to vehicles.

At 6 o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, Vegtrafikksentralen Sør had not received any complaints about slippery roads or snow on the road, says traffic operator Tone Sorken.

– But you see on the cameras that it is snowing in some places, he tells NTB.

On Sunday, a snow warning was issued for much of southern Norway on Tuesday night.

The police have encouraged motorists who drive on summer tires to switch to winter tires or to abandon the car.

– All teams from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration are out. So far everything is going very well, there hasn’t been much snow, but there will be some sleet out there, says the traffic operator.

Heavy rains have been reported in Oslo throughout Tuesday, but so far no snow has been reported in the capital.
