A large majority in Frp will allow 16-17 year olds with a checkout job at grocery stores to sell beer.

If Frp decides, a 16-year-old should be allowed to sit at the checkout when customers want to buy beer.

The proposal was adopted with the support of eight out of ten delegates at the FRP national meeting this weekend, writes Vårt Land.

– Here we must extend a hand to the youth and remove the tutelage that has ridden us like a mare for many years, said FRP profile Jon Helgheim.

The party wants to allow 16-year-olds to sell alcohol because it can give younger people a safer path to working life.

– The law works against its purpose. Especially when people under the age of 18 may be responsible for completing and ordering precisely these items for the company they work for. It is about trust in the person the company has employed, was the recommendation of the national board of Frp.

Today, stores are happy to resolve the situation by calling a person over 18 to intervene if a 16-year-old at the checkout gets a customer to buy beer, tobacco or snuff.
