Do you know this year’s Trøndelag everyday hero?

The case is being updated.

For the 11th time, Adresseavisen and NRK Trøndelag will choose ‘Trønder of the year’. To achieve this, we need your proposal for who deserves the honorary award in 2020.

Model or inspirational

The criteria for the Trønder of the year are the same as in previous years. The award will go to a person who has excelled beyond the ordinary.

– You can be a loner, a role model, or an inspirer known to audiences well, says editor-in-chief Kirsti Husby at Adresseavisen.

The 2019 Trøndelag finalists were Odd Reitan, Astrid Smeplass, Victor Sotberg, Heidi Bjerkan and Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. It was Astrid Smeplass who finally got the title of Trønder of the year.

Many unknown everyday heroes

New this year is that there will also be an award for the everyday hero of the year. Husby explains that over the years there have been submissions from many fantastic Trøndelag of the Year candidates who have not made it to the top.

– One of the reasons has been that people may not have been known through media coverage or have been a clear representative of an entire region, which are some of the criteria for the Trønder of the Year award. Now we want to create a new prize where even unknown everyday heroes can get their well deserved prize. We know there are a lot of them, says Husby.

The person named Daily Hero of the Year must be a person who has distinguished himself by completely selfless effort.

– It must be a person who has done something far beyond what one can expect from others, either by being a human being or perhaps someone who has achieved something of great importance in their local environment. We’re sure there are a lot of those everyday heroes, says Adresseavisen’s editor-in-chief, asking readers for help in finding these candidates.

  • Prize winner must be from Trøndelag or by residence and / or work, have a close connection to Trøndelag.
  • The award is given to a person who through selfless efforts has excelled beyond what we can expect and has made a difference to others, through volunteer work for individuals or organizations.
  • The award can be awarded both for an achievement or effort in the relevant year, and for work over a longer period of time. In any case, the commitment must be especially linked to the year for which the prize is awarded.
  • This year’s Everyday Hero is a collaboration between media houses Adresseavisen and NRK Trøndelag.

The jury selects five candidates

Until Sunday, November 1 inclusive, you can nominate your candidate for Trønder of the Year and Everyday Hero of the Year. Then a jury will select the finalists. These are presented at Christmas. Readers of Adresseavisen and NRK vote for the candidate they think deserves to be named Trønder of the Year, while Adresseavisen and NRK Trøndelag decide who is named Everyday Hero of the Year.

Both Trønder of the Year and Everyday Hero of the Year will be revealed in January.

The jury consists of Svein Bjørge, Silje Landevåg, Gøran Sørloth, Rachel Nordtømme, Bjørn-Tore Grøtte and Erlend Hansen Juvik.
