Forensic scientists are investigating an apartment in Namsos after finding a dead person. Police call the death suspicious.
(Namdalsavisa): NAMSOS: Police Chief Svenn Ingar Viken confirms that the police are at an address in the municipality.
– The apartment has been sealed and police forensic technicians are on site. We label it a suspicious death, Viken tells NA.
– Our list to put it in that box is relatively short, he adds.
Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the death. But the chief of the police station says it is too early to conclude the cause of death.
– We want to investigate the crime scene and we want to have open alternatives, says Viken.
The head of the police station also says that they work on the basis of many hypotheses.
– When were you notified?
– There was a warning this morning. It was defined as a suspicious death. Now we will investigate the cause, he says. Investigations will help strengthen or weaken the suspicion that something criminal has happened in connection with the death.
– Has anyone been arrested in connection with the death?
– No, responds the head of the police station.
