– We have offered to support Schibsted after the data breach that was reported yesterday. Schibsted also has many internal resources, NSM press officer Mona Strøm Arnøy tells E24.

On Friday night, the Schibsted media group discovered that 22,000 user accounts had been the target of a hacking attack after the login information became available online.

Attempts were made to enter a total of 150,000 Schibsted accounts.

– What kind of support have you offered to contribute?

– It is mainly about analysis services to see what kind of damage we are talking about, knowledge that we use more when, for example, similar incidents are discovered in other places, says Arnøy.

You do not need emergency support

Schibsted’s chief privacy officer, Ingvild Næss, says the company does not need emergency assistance from NSM after the serious incident that was discovered just before the weekend.

– We now consider that the attack is over and we have taken the necessary measures to avoid damage, but of course we are continuously working on analysis.

– How will you work with NSM in this case?

– We established a dialogue with NSM last night and we would like to cooperate in the future where relevant, but we consider that the acute attack in this case is over.

When asked if there are still 22,000 affected accounts, or if there has been any progress, the director of privacy responds that they still operate with the same numbers that they expressed on Friday night.

– Otherwise, we have no new details in the case, says Næss.
