– Here we have a variant of the virus that is more contagious than we usually see, says municipal chief doctor Tove Røsstad to NRK.
On Wednesday, four people were diagnosed with coronary heart disease. All the people must have been to the Lille London nightclub in the city, states the municipality of Trondheim in a press release.
At first 100 were quarantined, but then another 700 were asked to do the same.
Now 800 are in quarantine after the visit to the bar.
A total of nine people are infected after visiting the bar.
A total of 1,000 quarantined posts in Trondheim
In addition to the 800 who are in quarantine after visiting the bar, the municipal chief confirms that another 200 are in quarantine. These originate from infections from another workplace, as well as from the city’s student community.
– If people keep the quarantine as requested, I think we will have a good control. But it has the potential to spread much further, says Røsstad.
No one should be seriously ill. A total of 1,042 people were examined Wednesday.
I don’t have everyone
Røsstad tells NRK that all the people who may have been at the nightclub have not yet been contacted.
The four confirmed infected are people in their 20s. They are all infected by a known close contact and are part of the group of infection that involves the Lille London nightclub.
Now the municipality wants to test everyone who has been to Little London in the period 7.-10. October.
People who have been to the nightclub these days and have not been notified by the infection control office are asked to contact the corona phone.
Great contagion between students
On Monday, the municipality expressed its greatest concern about the large increase in the number of infected people in Trondheim.
Several NTNU students had been diagnosed with Covid-19 over the weekend.
– There is a lot of spread of infections in the student community. Students are a little more aware of this, because they have milder symptoms and can go unnoticed more easily. We are a little more on guard, Røsstad told NRK.
