One person died after two cars collided head-on on a county road in Haddal on Møre og Romsdal.
On Wednesday afternoon, the police responded to a serious traffic accident at Haddal in Sunnmøre. From the beginning it was reported that several of the four people involved were trapped.
– One person died and two were seriously injured in the accident. The fourth person appears unharmed, the police report at 9:30 p.m.

All those who were trapped were released and taken by air ambulance to Ålesund Hospital.
The course of events is still unclear and the police will investigate the case.
– The Norwegian Public Roads Administration accident group and police forensic technicians are on site to conduct reconnaissance and investigations, so hopefully they can conclude what happened here. The work will continue for a while ahead, so the road will probably be closed for several hours, says the operations manager at Arild Reite in the police to VG.
Police were notified of the accident around 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
– This is a head-on collision. There are several who are stuck, but it is confusing. Both fire and health work with liberation, said operations manager Arild Reite in the Møre og Romsdal police district at 5.30pm.

Vegtrafikksentralen midt reports that county road 653 is closed after the accident. Local detours for passenger cars have been established, but larger vehicles must take the ferry connection Fv 61 Hareid-Sulesund and E39 Solavågen-Festøya, they write.
On Twitter, the police write that the road will be closed for a while.
