City Councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor Party) does not have the feeling that Prime Minister Erna Solberg will boycott low-cost carrier Wizz Air.
The Hungarian low-cost airline will start domestic flights in Norway from 5 November. They do it at record prices.
But Wizz Air is also known for its opposition to unions, which means that the leaders of Johansen and LO are calling for a boycott. The Conservative Prime Minister will also boycott Wizz Air. She makes it clear that the company cannot refuse employees to organize.
This boycott makes Johansen react strongly. The city council leader writes on his Facebook page that on three government platforms in a row, bourgeois parties have recognized disorganized working life.

“Therefore, the new opposition of the Conservatives to Wizz Air seems to be a pure innuendo. In fact, the government is following a labor policy that has gradually led us towards, and not far from, the kind of disorganized business in which it is engaged. Wizz Air, ”says Johansen in the mail.
He writes that last week he was the first politician to go against Wizz Air. Johansen encouraged people to think twice before choosing to fly with the company. In hindsight, many politicians have come after, including the prime minister and key ministers.
Johansen experiences this as depoliticization and neutralization for which there is no basis.

He thinks it’s easy to be against Wizz Air, because they seem to be the worst in the class. But according to the city council leader, the government has also made unionization more expensive for every year they have governed.
Johansen accuses the Solberg government of having weakened the Work Environment Act, facilitated more temporary jobs and more hires, and voted against winning pensions since the first crown.
“And they say flatly that they recognize disorganized work life. This is a dangerous message at a time when social dumping and pressure on workers’ rights is spreading, “he warns in the post.

Johansen writes that now the degree of organization must go up and that the tax deduction for being union must be doubled. The maximum deduction in 2020 is 3850 crowns. With Johansen’s proposal, it goes up to NOK 7,700, which in that case gives a tax saving of NOK 1,700.
The longtime Labor politician will also eliminate expanded access to temporary employment in the Work Environment Act. If you get what you want, hiring is limited to purely temporary positions and only by agreement with the shop stewards.
Furthermore, the possibility of organizing outside the responsibility of the employer should be weakened. According to Johansen, the state should be as strict in the requirements for a serious working life as is the municipality of Oslo in the Oslo model.
