Experts in “fancy traps” stare at the siblings’ sky-high consumption.
– It shows that we have no control, says Beka Yngvar Longurashvili (24) when he and his stepbrother Bogdan Melikyan (23) in this week’s episode of “Luksusfellen” are told that they have accumulated a debt of a total of 3.4 million crowns.
Check out a clip of the episode in the video on the top of the case!
Beka and Bogdan live in a single-family home they own in Grua, but they struggle with the fact that a lot more money comes out of the account than it does out of it.

The money goes to everything from food and clothing to electronics and the stepbrothers’ two dogs. Most are purchased on credit, and since they have a large consumer loan, the money Beka and Bogdan have earned has been used to pay it off instead of the mortgage. The mortgage has not been paid in several months.
– It was just too much for them in the end, and I think more can be related to the fact that the debt grows so much that you don’t know what to do, says Lene Drange to Nettavisen.
Eliminate 150,000 per month
Due to the lack of repayments, parts of the mortgage have been used for debt collection. There will be a forced sale request soon.
Because while Beka and Bogdan think they have around a million kronor in consumer loans and credit cards in addition to the mortgage, the truth is completely different. They owe 3,400,054 crowns, including the mortgage. This surprises both them and the experts.

Lene Drange tells Nettavisen that this is not the largest debt they have seen, but notes that it is probably the highest sum in terms of pure consumption among the participants:
– We have seen it before, but then there are usually games in the image, so it is only intended for consumption, we probably have not seen it before.

Much of the debt is also relatively new, with NOK 320,000 raised in consumer loans and credits just a month ago. In one year, they have raised NOK 1,297,000 in credit cards and consumer loans. That is 108,000 crowns a month.
In total, the stepbrothers have allocated 150,000 kroner a month, but the bills have not been paid.
– It ended in a vicious cycle
Beka Yngvar Longurashvili tells Nettavisen that he and his brother were asked several times to sign up for “Luksusfellen.” For a long time they just laughed, before things changed.
– It was not so easy to realize that we needed help. First, a friend said we should register, and half a year later Bogdan’s girlfriend asked us to register. We had left early with everything, we bought an apartment and then a house, we had a small loan, before we needed money for something else. So we needed more money, and when we started we ended up in a vicious cycle without fully understanding it, Beka tells Nettavisen.

He does not hide the fact that it was a shock to see how high the sums of his consumption were.
– I just thought: “shit, how are we going to pay for it?” It’s a bit like when you go to the store and buy and think you have to pay 100 crowns, but when you get to the checkout it will also be 600 crowns. Only now there were 1000 times more money that we didn’t have. Magne was absolutely right when he asked us why we play millionaires. It was a bad lifestyle, he admits.
Because it is precisely the lifestyle of the two stepbrothers that amazes the experts. They go to the store several times a day, buy expensive clothes and spend large sums on electronics and other things. Also, a lot of money goes to their two dogs, which Beka and Bogdan saw as family.
I had to sell houses and dogs
But to reach the goal and solve the financial problems, it had to be difficult. They had to put the house up for sale themselves rather than forcibly sell it, and the two dogs also became a waste of money.
Therefore, one of them was relocated, while the other has temporarily lived with a friend of Beka’s. It was a difficult decision to make.
– That was the most difficult. We loved the house and the dogs, and the worst part was that we had to get rid of it. So it was very awkward gifting one of our dogs, and now I started looking for a relocation home for the other and.

Because Grua’s house is not yet sold, a year and a half after “Luksusfellen’s” visit. Beka still lives there, while Bogdan lives with his girlfriend. Considering that there is still a long way to go before the siblings are debt free, and since there is a lot of work involved in selling the house, the dog needs a new home.
– The wolfdog was mostly attached to me, and I couldn’t give him away because we didn’t know how things would go. But even when the house is sold, it still takes me five years to be debt free. So it’s better for him to move to someone who has the time and money for him, says Beka.
Kept power of attorney
With the house not yet sold, experts still have authority over the two brothers’ finances.
However, Lene Drange is convinced that things will go well for them, thanks in large part to a good attitude.
– They are incredibly positive, whatever happens. They have achieved an incredible amount and have calmed their consumption, he tells Nettavisen.
However, much remains to be done.
– We won’t get a permanent solution until that house is sold. But they have incredible enthusiasm and they don’t give up. So now we’re just waiting for a sale, too many things will be sorted out as soon as the house is sold, says the “Luxury Trap” expert.
The “luxury trap” is broadcast on TV3 on Wednesday at 20:30.
