The incident occurred in or near a house in Overhalla which is north of Trøndelag on Wednesday night.

– We got an emergency call at 0.50, from a guy who said he was stabbed. She was also his daughter, Operations Director Wenche Johnsen at Trøndelag Police tells NRK.

At the same time that the reporter is in telephone contact with the police, the aggressor tries to enter the house where he is.

The perpetrator eventually left the scene.

– We had three patrols that moved and were armed, says Johnsen.

Transported to hospital

The main task of the police was to get the ambulance to treat the wounded safely.

The injured were taken by ambulance to hospital.

The extent of the damage suffered by the father and daughter is unknown, but the daughter is said to be worse injured than her father.

– These two are father and daughter and have a relationship with the perpetrator, she says.

There were also three minor children in the house.

Knowledge of the police

Approximately half an hour later, the police observe the perpetrator who apparently stumbled upon a central discount and a sign before being detained by the police.

– They arrest him at a gas station, not far from where the victims were, says Johnsen.

The police have known the assailant before, and pepper spray was used during the arrest.
