Paul Scholes believes that Manchester United need Erling Braut Haaland, not Edinson Cavani.
Erling Braut Haaland has conquered European football after his move to Borussia Dortmund just over a year ago.
This week he marked his first hat trick with Norway in the Nations League meeting with Romania, and on Tuesday he will be connected with Real Madrid in the Spanish media.
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has said several times before that United should do everything in their power to get Haaland.
– Haaland is sensational
In a recent YouTube interview with the Stadio Astro, the recent Salford coach uses big words when talking about the Norwegian forward from Dortmund.
– I think Haaland is great. I think he will possibly be on a par with Ronaldo and Messi, based on what we’ve seen so far, says Scholes.
The former midfield star believes Manchester United’s problem is that they do not have a clear midfielder, like Haaland or Harry Kane.
– Martial was almost fooled into thinking he was towards the end of last season because he scored so much. Now this season has started quite badly. We need a number 9 in first class.
Cavani Skeptic
Scholes doubts that Edinson Cavani is the man who will lead Manchester United to success this season.
– We have to wait and see. On a good day, he’s a great striker, but he’s 33 and looked like he was going to give up. He didn’t play much football for PSG last season. Five or six years ago he had been a huge signing and he took us to the next level. I don’t think I can do that now.
Manchester United will face Newcastle next Saturday at 9pm. Then, PSG will play the Champions League the following Tuesday.
Cavani is not ready to play the Newcastle game due to quarantine rules.
