A video from the Russian inn, held at the Svingen nightclub in Heggelia on Målselv in Troms, shows a small infection-friendly Saturday night, where young people dance together on the dance floor.

– The photos speak for themselves. Obviously, there have been serious violations of infection control rules, municipal chief doctor Vidar Bjørnås tells Dagbladet.

“Took completely loose”

According to the owner of the nightclub, Jan Johnsen, they were forced to close an hour earlier because the guests did not follow the rules.

– He was just too in a good mood. People did not respect infection control rules, Johnsen tells Nordlys, who mentioned the case for the first time.

He tells Dagbladet that the bar is divided in two, with a pub and a small disco.

– We were probably too nice. We open at 6pm, and at the end of the evening they would be allowed to dance a bit. Then he “pulled it out completely.” So it didn’t work out, Johnsen says.

CROWN: On Saturday a party with 70 participants was held at Blindern Stundenterhjem in Oslo. Now 200 people have been quarantined.

According to the owner, the youths, who were between 18 and 20 years old, were informed that the behavior was unacceptable and asked to leave the premises.

– We should let them have fun, and we are deeply sorry that this happened.

The consequence is that the bar will not have an open dance floor until the corona pandemic is over, Johnsen says.

– I understand that people are fed up with corona, but that does not mean that you can do whatever you want. We cannot give happy people a chance to neglect the rules.

Reaction

Municipal Chief Medical Officer Bjørnås says the municipality learned of the incident through video of the party, and that the case will be processed during the week.

– We will give an answer. What the reaction will be is too early to say anything about it, he says.

Målselv has so far escaped cheaply from the pandemic and has only had one confirmed case of infection.

– We want to keep it that way. I understand that young people can get a bit bored, but it is important to persevere to avoid an outbreak, he emphasizes.

Therefore, Bjørnås encourages the young people who were at the party to follow up for respiratory symptoms and to contact coronatest if symptoms appear.

Last weekend, there were also unrest in the party and violations of infection control rules in several other places in the country. Among other places in Stavanger where a party with around 200 participants stopped on Saturday night.
