On Twitter, the police write that the serious incident of violence has taken place in Frolandsveien in Arendal, and that two people have been taken to hospital. No one has been arrested in the case.
The police were notified of the case at 6:10 p.m. The operations center informs VG that the two people were conscious when they were transferred to the hospital. Fædrelandsvennen reports that it concerns a man and a woman in their 20s.
– There are two pieces that are exposed to what we would describe as a serious incident of violence. We have launched a technical and tactical investigation, COO Miriam Stausland tells NTB.
He will not comment on whether weapons were used or what the police learned when they arrived at the scene.
– When we say that it is a serious incident of violence, we do it because there are serious injuries. But I can’t say any more about the extent of the damage, says Stausland.
Police were alerted by a person nearby, and the two injured were taken to Sørlandet hospital in Arendal.
