Sharp and almost hateful reactions came from former Labor colleagues when Jan Bøhler announced two weeks ago that he was reporting a transfer to the Center Party.
During a book bath with Trond Giske in Trondheim on Monday, Bøhler recounted how he had experienced the situation.
– I’m a little scared by the fact that the culture and the loyalty of the party, that the intensity in it is so strong that you cannot try to look back and see the good in the decisions that people make, and respect it, said Bøhler .
– Let the party with a big P take the lead in friendship, when I say that I want to remain friends, we are first of all human beings who will take care of each other. I’m a little scared about that, said Bøhler.
Trond Giske, who resigned nearly two years ago as Deputy Leader of the Labor Party following several excessive accusations and was rejected earlier this fall as the new county leader of the Trøndelag Labor Party, is one of those who have defended Bøhler after desertion.
It is “bad to see comments in which Jan is treated as a deserter from a cult,” Giske wrote on his Facebook page the day after the news.
“I have seldom met a central party entertainer with whom I agree,” Giske proclaimed during the book bath.
For Dagbladet, however, Giske denies that it is relevant for him to switch to Sp.
The subject of the book bath was Bøhler’s new book “Østkantfolk”.
