On Friday night, it became clear that Marcus Rashford received an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for his efforts against child poverty during the Corona period.
Initially, the medal of honor would be awarded in June, but Queen Elizabeth II decided to postpone it until October. The reason was that it could also present the medal to people who played a crucial role in the first months of the country’s fight against the coronavirus.

The plan was reserved for families in need of help and would only last through the crown closing this summer. Rashford’s compromise ensured that the government chose to extend the offer through the summer.
“We had to think about the best way to do it, to find out how these families can eat for a long period of time without problems,” Rashford said at the time.
In June, Rashford, 22, became the youngest honorary physician in history at the University of Manchester for his work on child poverty.
Never before had the hometown university awarded an honorary doctorate to such a young person. It is the highest honor the university can bestow.
Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and club legend Bobby Charlton previously received the generous appointment.
