On the occasion of International Girls’ Day on Sunday, Solberg visited the Sisterhood facility in Bydelshuset at Frogner in Oslo on Thursday. Sisterhood is a preventive measure aimed specifically at girls.

Sisterhood aims to strengthen girls’ self-esteem, self-confidence, inner and outer limits, and help create a good environment. Among the offerings are yoga and other exercises.

– It is not only internationally where girls have great challenges. Also in Norway there are many girls who fight. In this country, girls struggle with loneliness, body pressure and being a good girl.Solberg tells NTB.

She believes that this is precisely why low-threshold services like Sisterhood are important.

– The fact that you are not only referred to psychiatry, but that you come to a place that addresses challenges large and small in groups, is also important in developing girls’ self-confidence and self-respect, and it’s a good place to make friends, says Solberg. .

The Sisterhood project is celebrating 15 years this year, and leader Isabel Espinoza says the girls think it was great to have the Prime Minister visit.

– They had a lot of fun and felt that they were allowed to speak freely, among other things, about what this means to them. So this was really nice. And a confirmation of the work we do, he says.
