The government has just presented its state budget proposal for 2021.
As usual, adjustments have been made to rates, entry points, thresholds and the like, which will affect how you will be taxed next year.
But how does the budget proposal affect your finances? You can find out for yourself in our updated tax calculator!
The tax calculator is aimed at ordinary wage earners and is not suitable for people on social security, pensioners or the self-employed.
In addition to filling in information on wages, assets, and interest payments, you can include company auto taxes, childcare deductions, pension savings, and union dues.
The calculations are run locally in your browser and no data is sent to Dinside or others.

This is as follows:
This is a state budget proposal
The budget being presented now is a state budget proposal, which is presented to the Storting.
It is always presented at the beginning of October of the year prior to the budget year, which is why it is called the 2021 State Budget.
The state budget is presented alongside the national budget, which explains the socioeconomic considerations on which the budget is based. The proposed state budget will then be considered by the Storting, which may make changes.
The Storting adopts the final budget, which then becomes binding on the government and therefore on the state administration.
The revised national budget arrives in May 2021. Read more about the differences between the state budget and the revised national budget here.
