This gives Stabæk’s talent a chance to fight for historic gold in northern Norway for the excellent leaders of the league.

A happy Hugo Vetlesen is clear to NRK that he has followed Glimt.

– It is incredibly impressive what they have done all season, they have not lost a single game.

And are you ready to jump right into the team?

– Well, it’s not just going straight to this Bodø team, but I’ll take the war and do my best in every training session, then we’ll see.

I got a tip from Hauge

Vetlesen knows former Glimt Håkon Evjen and Jens Petter Hauge players well through the U21 national team.

Evjen and Hauge have gone to Az Alkmaar and AC Milan respectively.

– I have especially spoken with Jens Petter before this transition. We are very good friends and it is clear that it helps a lot that they have done so well and have achieved that development. Of course I hope to do the same, but it takes a lot of work.

He likes himself better in midfield and says he’s destined for an inside running back role at Glimt.

– It’s a position that suits me perfectly. I’ve had a good chat with Kjetil (Knutsen, trainer, editor’s note) about what’s going on, so I can’t wait.

And the process has gone fast. Although he has known for some time the interest of the Northern Norwegian elite league team, according to him it has been going fast lately.

– I found out about the offer last week. So it’s only gone one way since then.

Bjørkan: – Says something about Glimt

Sporting director Aasmund Bjørkan in Bodø / Glimt is naturally at work when NRK takes over on him Monday night.

After all, the transfer window closes at midnight on Tuesday.

Bjørkan points out that Vetlesen, despite his young age, has many high-level matches and. Plus a number of age-specific internationals.

– Who wants to be with us in Bodø / Glimt and take steps, we think it’s incredibly fun.

– It says a lot about our position in Norwegian football. We note that established players and young talents see exciting things happening in Bodø and that they can experience adventures like Jens Petter Hauge.

Many Glimt fans fear that more profiles may exit Aspmyra before the transfer window closes.

Rumors especially about the two key Danish players Philip Zinckernagel and Kasper Junker have been circulating.

– Can you guarantee that no one else will leave Glimt this fall?

– I can never guarantee anything, but right now there is no indication of that, Bjørkan replies.

– Not a step down

Two years ago, Vetlesen was relevant abroad.

At the time, Stabæk turned down an offer in the double digits of millions “from a club in a country with a great league,” sports manager Inge André Olsen at Stabæk told VG at the time.

He is now at the Aspmyra Stadium in Bodø, with the artificial turf in front of him.

– The decision has not been easy. When they have a local young man who has played many elite league games, they prefer to go abroad. This is not how it turned out now and I am very happy to be here at Glimt now.

– I am incredibly grateful, because I would not have stayed here without Stabæk and the opportunities they have given me.

NB: Late on Monday night, it was also confirmed that Vegard Leikvoll Moberg will return to Bodø / Glimt. Moberg left Glimt after last season in favor of Danish Silkeborg.
