Patience is running out with airlines that haven’t paid back.
By the end of November, airlines should have paid their customers for canceled flights, the Civil Aviation Authority has decided.
– During the corona pandemic, airlines have had to cancel several departures. At the time, this has led to a large number of requests for reimbursement from passengers. Current EU regulations establish a period of 7 days to comply with said claim for reimbursement, but this period has not been possible to comply with in the extraordinary situation in which we find ourselves, reports the Civil Aviation Authority.
In a press release, the Authority writes that there are differences in how far different companies have come in paying reimbursements.

Norwegian has announced that they will be updated at the end of October, Widerøe has stated that they have little to return, while SAS will have a deadline for the end of November to fulfill all pending refund claims.
– If SAS does not meet this deadline, a penalty of one million crowns per month will be applied as of December 1, informs the Civil Aviation Authority.
