Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s Manchester United will face Paris Saint-Germain in a tough Champions League group. There will be a rematch for the quarterfinals in 2019.
United also pulled Leipzig out of the third tier. Alexander Sørloth plays there. The latest opponent is Basaksehir from Fredrik Gulbrandsen’s Turkish club.
The group draw took place on Thursday in Geneva.

Group A: Bayern Munich, Atlético de Madrid, Salzburg, Lokomotiv Moskva.
Group B: Real Madrid, Sjaktar Donetsk, Inter, Mönchengladbach.
Group C: Porto, Manchester City, Olympiakos, Marseille.
Group D: Liverpool, Ajax, Atalanta, Midtjylland.
Group E: Sevilla, Chelsea, Krasnodar, Rennes.
Group F: Zenit, Borussia Dortmund, Lazio, Club Brugge.
Group G: Juventus, Barcelona, Dynamo Kiev, Fenervacos.
Group H: PSG, Manchester United, RB Leipzig, Istanbul Kasaksehir.
It was also revealed that Erling Braut Haaland and Borussia Dortmund will face Russian league champions Zenit St. Petersburg, Italian Lazio and Belgian Brugge. Both United and Dortmund were seeded at level two of the draw.
Martin Ødegaard’s Real Madrid face Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
United are in good company again after playing last season in the Europa League. In the spring of 2019, United reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League after a dramatic victory against Paris Saint-Germain. The teams will meet again this fall.
PSG became the boss of Dortmund last season. Haaland & co. they won 2-1 at home, but then lost 0-2 in the quarterfinals. Subsequently, the French went to reach the final, where they lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich.
Defending champion Bayern Munich, who won all of their matches in the tournament last season, was the first team to be drawn. The rivals will be Atlético de Madrid, Salzburg and Lokomotiv de Moscow.
Liverpool, England’s supreme league champion, face Ajax, Atalanta and the only Nordic team, the Danish Midtjylland. Manchester City face Porto, Olympiakos and Marseille, while Chelsea face Europa League winners Sevilla, Krasnodar and Rennes.
The draw also offered the prospect of an all-star duel between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi when Juventus took on Barcelona. Other teams in that group are Dynamo Kiev and Molde bosses Ferencváros, with Norwegian Tokmac Nguen in the stable.
The Champions League group stage match begins on Tuesday, October 20. With the exception of the stay of the national team in November, the matches will be played every week until December 9.
