– No offers have been received so far, says real estate agent Marit Wangensten in Privatmegleren about the 322-square-meter cabin that has been for sale for less than a week.
For NOK 34 million, the potential buyer of the cottage at Røyskattvegen 9 in Beitostølen can get a jacuzzi and spa with the purchase.
Second on Finn’s list of most expensive vacation homes is the 386-square-meter luxury cabin in Beitostølen.
Never before has such an expensive cabin been tried for sale in Valdres. The previous price record at Valdres was set last year. Then it was a cabin sold for 12.1 million crowns.
– There are several expensive cabins in the area, but they are inherited and rarely sold, says Wangensten.
– Special part of the cabin market
Seller Harald Grimsrud says the cabin was completed in 2009, after buying a piece of land in 2001.
The plot measures 2.3 meters and the house has, among other things, seven bedrooms, an annex and four bathrooms.
– A lot of time has been spent building the cabin and it has been built to be more or less maintenance free, he says.
– How much did you spend to build the cabin?
– I don’t mean to say that, but it’s a lot, answers Grimsrud.
Grimsrud describes the plot as magical and acknowledges that he is selling an expensive country house. However, she does not think it is the most expensive cabin in Beitostølen, as many of the more luxurious cabins are not marketed.
– This is a somewhat special part of the booth market, and I am very determined that it will take time to sell, says Grimsrud, who confirms that he has received some calls about booth sales.
Broker Marit Wangensten says she has screened, but doesn’t say how many stakeholders have turned up.
– There is a good response to the cabins in the mountains during the day, he says.
Last year, real estate billionaire Aage Thoresen set a record price in Valdres when he sold the Beitostølen cabin for NOK 12.1 million.
In the first three
At Finn.no, there are currently three cabins for sale for over 30 million. At the top, the usual Budalsvegen 183 in Geilo reigns for 39 million crowns, which has been tested several times in recent years.
DN has previously written that when the hut was completed in 2005, investor Steinar Mikkelsen had spent more than NOK 40 million on the 700-square-meter building that has a countercurrent pool and cellar.
The magnificent hut with the nickname Skarvegløtt was in 2008 for 60 million crowns. In 2013, it was put up for sale again for NOK 45 million before it was reduced to NOK 39 million in 2018.
Billing record on the mountain
Low interest rates and travel restrictions have prompted record interest in cabins, both in the mountains and at sea, according to a recent report by Eiendom Norge.
According to the report, 3034 cabins have been sold in the mountains so far this year. This is an increase of almost 40% over the same period last year, while 34% more sea cabins were sold.
The price increase for the mountain cabins was one percent.
– Sea huts are to a greater extent a rare commodity due to limited opportunities to build more in the beach area. So the mountain cabin market is available to even more wallets than the cabin market, said CEO Henning Lauridsen of Eiendom Norge. (Terms)Copyright Dagens Næringsliv AS and / or our suppliers.
