Big fire in the center of Åndalsnes – rbnett.no

Updated at 10.33: 34 people have been evacuated from the burning building in Åndalsnes. Some of these need to be slightly burned or exposed to smoke. But no one should be mortally wounded. All building occupants are now in control. Report to the police via Twitter just before 10:30.

At 10.15am, the police report via Twitter that they are working to evacuate and collect an overview of the residents. So far one person has been reported injured.

At 09:43 on Thursday, the police report a large fire in the center of Åndalsnes. Emergency services are on site. Efforts are being made to monitor residents and if anyone is missing. The fire department is inside with smoke divers.

At 10.05, the 110 exchange writes that the building has caught fire and that work is underway to limit the spread to other buildings.

Rauma Mayor Yvonne Wold confirms to Rbnett that the houses that are burning are refugee housing.

– We are on site and working. WE were notified of the fire at 09.28, and the firefighters quickly arrived at the scene, as the fire station is close by. We currently do not have an overview of how many people live there. It is a building with several units. It’s burning hot and we have no control, says the guard at the Møre og Romsdal 110 exchange.
