It began to burn Wednesday morning in a commercial building in Moelv. About 200 meters of the length of the roof were on fire.

Now a dead person has been found inside the building. This is confirmed by Sidsel Svarstad, Inland Police Operations Director.

– I can confirm that a dead person has been found inside the scene of the fire. Efforts are being made to get the person out, operations manager Svarstad tells NRK shortly after 1 p.m.

She says the person has not been identified.

– There is still a partial risk of landslides in parts of the building. Therefore, we are not allowed to search the entire building.

A person has disappeared

Jane Brendhagen, chief of operations in the Innlandet police district, said this morning that one person was missing.

– The police have now been informed that one person has not been counted. There are smoke divers inside the room.

She added:

– The person in question was going to work on the roof of the building.

Brendhagen said they don’t know where the person may be.

– It is impossible for us to say. We are working on the case now.

The relatives of the missing person are now being cared for by a crisis team.

Police cannot yet confirm that the missing person was found, but family members were notified that a dead person was found inside the building, says operations manager Svarstad.

Demanding extinction work

There should be a housing unit inside the building, but no one should have been present there when the fire started, police say.

– The housing unit has been registered and is empty. But we haven’t found out who lives there, says Sidsel Svarstad.

The fire service described the extinction as demanding, but at 11 o’clock it took control of the fire.

The Inland Fire Department has been assisted by Nedre Romerike and has worked to prevent spread throughout the building.

– It’s a building with objects like motorhomes and boats, says COO Brendhagen.

RV Owner: – Nothing to do but run down

The car’s owner, Geir Arne Moe Jacobsen, quickly took action when he learned of the fire.

– Then there was nothing left to do but exhaust. My motorhome is stored here, Jacobsen tells NRK.

He managed to save the caravan.

– I think it was very nice to get it, so it was not lost.

By the time he reached the scene of the fire, firefighters had arrived and began unwinding hoses.

– We who came here were not inside the building, it was the fire department who took the keys and took the car. Fortunately, I did well, Jacobsen tells NRK.

– very tragic

You find it difficult to estimate how much value is inside the building.

– But when you combine all the cars and boats, there are quite a few millions there.

Think it is sad to see the building in flames and smoke.

– Fire is very tragic, and some of the worst that can happen. You never have a guarantee. We hope it goes well for most of the people..
