After 24 hours of continuous rain, the weather should change.

– It wasn’t very heavy rain, but more rain than we’ll get in a while, says on-call meteorologist Isak Slettebø at Stormgeo.

And continues:

– Going into October, eastern Norway will be the hardest hit.

This is the start of the fall break.

From October 5 to 9, there are autumn holidays in Bergen. For many, the holidays begin on Friday afternoon.

Then it will roar in Spain and France, among other places.

– In western Norway, the weather will be good, with almost no precipitation, says Slettebø.

– Western Norway can enjoy the best climate in all of Europe.

Good weather starts on Wednesday and then really starts on Friday, he says.

The best weather will be on Saturday.

– It is important to go as far north as possible in western Norway and as far as possible towards the coast for the best climate. It is completely different from what we are used to.

The climate is generally better inland, he says.

It will also be hotter than normal. In Bergen, the average temperature for October is 12 degrees, but this weekend and the start of the fall holidays we will be five or six degrees above normal.

That is up to 20 degrees in some places.

Windy this weekend

– A lot of wind has been reported, and I see Storm and Yr reporting a very different wind force, especially in the mountains.

According to Slettebø, this is because there are different automatic calculations on which the wind forecasts are based.

– My advice is to take an average of both wind forecasts and watch the weather forecast on TV 2, and preferably also on NRK. Since it is done by a meteorologist who has interpreted the weather forecasts, he says.

The good weather will last a while, says Slettebø.

– In terms of precipitation, it looks very good for western Norway. But it seems that this good time will not last forever.

Very little “rubble” that Westerners have to count on.

– It’s a little mixed. But I also don’t see any violent rain episodes next week.
