Wait for Oslo to tighten
After a period of increasing infection in Oslo, the Norwegian Health Directorate on Friday recommended banning private gatherings of more than five people.
Oslo city councilor Raymond Johansen has been sitting on the fence so far. He has called a press conference at 6pm tonight.
– I hope that the municipality of Oslo will follow the advice of the health authorities, said Høie.
According to the Minister of Health, the municipality of Oslo must introduce more comprehensive infection measures today.

Urgent meeting with the municipalities around Oslo
During Monday’s press conference, the Health Minister said he was concerned that the infection would spread from Oslo to surrounding municipalities.
Therefore, all municipalities around Oslo are summoned tonight for an emergency meeting on possible infection measures.
– We see in Europe that large cities are important in the spread of infections. I am concerned that many may be infected through Oslo. Since many surrounding cities use Oslo, it can affect a lot. Therefore, I have asked the NIPH and the Norwegian Health Directorate to consider measures in the surrounding municipalities, Høie said.
The invited municipalities include the municipalities of Bærum, Asker Lillestrøm, Nordre Follo, Lørenskog, Nittedal, Nesodden, Rælingen, Ås, Lier, Frogn, Lunner, Gjerdrum, Hole and Gran.
The Norwegian Health Directorate: – Critical phase
– We are now in a critical phase. It’s important to be in control as soon as possible, says health director Bjørn Guldvog.

Last Tuesday, the Oslo municipality introduced stricter rules, among other things, prohibiting gatherings with more than 10 people in private homes. The municipality also encourages restaurants to register all guests.
The Directorate has recommended a package of measures for 14 days, including a ban on private gatherings of more than five people.
Councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor Party) has said the municipality will wait for the effect of the tightening they did last week before considering new measures.
619 infected in the last two weeks
The number of infections in the capital is 619 in the last fourteen days, according to statistics from the Oslo municipality health service.
33 people have been infected in the last 24 hours in Oslo. This is the third day in a row that the number of new infections has decreased.
The majority of men are reported to be infected, with the age group 20-29 having the highest absolute number of cases on record at 233 cases.
St. Hanshaugen and Stovner are the two most infected districts with 143.8 and 138.1 infected per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively. The infection rate is lowest in Vestre Aker and Ullern with an infection rate of 23.9 and 31.8, respectively.
