Kjartansson blew the chances when VIF failed to discipline the top team in the Elite Series.
BODØ / GLIMT – VÅLERENGA 2-0:
In Sunday’s main match between Bodø / Glimt and Vålerenga, it was finally the home team that proved to be the most effective team, despite a penalty kick from shooting star Jens Petter Hauge.
Scores from Kasper Junker and Philip Zinckernagel helped bring traders one step closer to league gold.
Vidar Örn Kjartansson, who has contributed very positively after joining the Oslo team in late August, was unable to vote in Sunday’s match.
– It’s almost a bit shocking, exclaimed Eurosport commentator Kenneth Fredheim after the Icelander burned one of many great opportunities.
In the post-match interview, Hauge was not impressed with Vålerenga’s achievements and, especially in the first half, believes that the Oslo team had little to show for it.
– If Vålerenga comes here and says they will win, they will screw me, because it was shameful what they showed in the first round, Hauge said.

Hauge show
Seven minutes into the game came the first big chance of the game, from Vålerenga and Kjartansson. Defender Fredrik Bjørkan almost fell asleep when he lost the ball to his own left side, but luckily for defender, teammate and goalkeeper Nikita Haikin came out quickly and saved the Icelander’s attempt.
Then it was time for the Jens Petter Hauge show, again.
The 20-year-old kicked the ball down the left wing and went over the crossbar before passing Christian Dale Borchgrenvink. Inside the area he met Junker, who easily put the ball into the goal.
– He’s tall, tall, upper-class, among others, exclaimed Tor Ole Skullerud from the commentary position, and points to Hauge’s achievements before scoring.
Soccer expert Lars Tjærnås also expressed his joy at not having to meet Hauge for a duel on the soccer field, on Twitter.
Doubled the lead
Kjartansson was not far from equalizing immediately, but unfortunately for the Icelander, the ball slipped off his foot as he was about to shoot from close range.
Not long before the disruption signal disappeared, Glimt was once again dangerous at the front, and even then VIF could not resist. Morten Konradsen scored a goal for Zinckernagel, who had little trouble doubling the home team’s lead.
– It is so effective and it is so beautiful! Kenneth Fredheim exclaimed from the comment box, ecstatic by Glimt’s attacking move.

The second half began when Hauge had a chance from the penalty spot, after Victor Klaesson knocked down Junker before the minute passed. The youngster’s attempt, however, was not in line with what he has delivered lately, as the VIF goalkeeper saved the penalty with relative ease.
“Sad” and “strange” were the words Skullerud and Fredheim used to describe Hauge’s attempts.
The same man had a great opportunity to increase the advantage when the hour was played, after a class counterattack by the locals. Zinckernagel took the ball beautifully, cascading forward, before knocking Hauge out to the left. However, the accuracy of the shot was not good for the 20-year-old.
Red card
Soon after, Judge Tore Hansen showed Marius Lode of Glimt. The midfielder came in with great speed and straight punches to the leg of Henrik Bjørdal, and fell off the field without much protest.
Then Kjartansson was dangerous again up front, but only with Haikin, the Icelander sent the ball to the wall of the net.
Towards the end of the match, both teams came close to scoring, but in the end it ended 2-0 for Bodø / Glimt. Therefore, they remain undefeated after 19 games played in this year’s Elite Series season.
