Several protesters and police officers were seized by Norwegians by medical personnel on Saturday afternoon after violent clashes following a demonstration in London’s Trafalgar Square, writes Sky News.
Thousands of people gathered to protest against the closures and assembly bans imposed to slow the spread of the disease in the country, which has skyrocketed in recent days.
“I understand that there is great frustration associated with the rules, but they are made to keep people safe from a deadly virus,” said police spokesman Ade Adelakan before the rally.

Ten arrested
London police have warned protesters not to do the same. Before the demonstration, they came out and said they would try to talk to people and explain the background and the importance of them.
They would take stronger action if the message didn’t get through to them, they emphasized.
Images of the scene on Saturday showed a great atmosphere between protesters and deployed policemen. Among other things, one protester could be seen bleeding from the head, while another, a woman, was apparently pushed and ended up on the ground.
Ten people have been arrested as a result of a collision, according to Sky News.

Speakers during Saturday’s rally denied they were conspiracy theorists and said they were fighting for freedom of expression and human rights.
– We are tired of the intimidating propaganda and the misrepresentation of the facts. We are tired of our freedom being restricted, said one of the speakers, Dan Astin-Gregory, who acknowledges that the pandemic has caused death and suffering, but believes the measures are not in line with the threat.
