After a night with strong winds and downpours in southern Norway, several traffic problems have been reported in the early hours of Saturday.

Vegtrafikksentralen Øst has received several reports of downed trees and a lot of water on the roads in Oslo and Viken. The worst is in Follo, Oslo and Upper Romerike in the morning.

– People must drive carefully, adapt the game to the conditions and follow a bit. This also applies to our main roads, it does not make sense to be at 100 when there is a lot of water on the road, says traffic operator Gry Solli in Vegtrafikksentralen Øst to VG just before 06:30 on Saturday morning.

Problems with the subway

As if that were not enough, there are also reports of various delays in the capital’s metro.

On Saturday the message came that all lines were delayed due to problems with the power supply. Power returned later, but there have also been reports of challenges in individual sections.

Between Holmen and Hovseter, an overturned tree on the lines creates delays.

– The metro must run on the opposite track, so there will be delays here, says the press officer in Sporveien, Jan Rustad to NTB.

Interchange 110 in Oslo also reports a large amount of water on the road, while police have received reports of several near-misses on the outgoing E6 Abildsø.

Both westbound lanes on Ring 3 at Radiumhospitalet in Oslo are also blocked by a large tree that has fallen overnight.

– The tree has fallen from the north side of the road. Beltway 3 can be closed for a few hours after here, until the road is cleared. Here, crews have to report with the chainsaw, operations manager Vidar Pedersen in the Oslo police district tells NTB.

At 06:00 on Saturday morning, it is possible to pass in a field, but the road can be closed again when the tree is removed.

A yellow rain warning was sent in the eastern part of the country on Saturday. Between 40 and 60 millimeters of rain are expected in 12 hours.
