Fredrik Solvang, Gunnar Stavrum | Fredrik Solvang with a cheeky message to Trygve Hegnar

Trygve Hegnar called the broadcast of Fredrik Solvang’s latest debate a “silly debate.” Now you get a clear message from the host.

On Thursday night, the bus strike was the subject of the NRK debate. A total of 3,800 bus drivers have gone on strike and as of Saturday there will be 4,500 more people.

Bus drivers, for their part, claim to have lagged behind in paying wages. Critics point out that reducing bus capacity may lead to an increase in coronary heart infections.

Editor-in-chief Gunnar Stavrum at Nettavisen was one of the participants in the debate and believes that the strike must be stopped before it has serious health consequences.

In the debate, it was pointed out that the salaries of bus company executives have increased considerably in recent years, while bus drivers have not had the same development. Finansavisen editor-in-chief Trygve Hegnar thought this was a derailment of the debate.

– When the NRK Debatten program took up this Tuesday this week, host Fredrik Solvang ruined the entire debate by making a mess about what top managers of bus companies earn, Hegnar writes in an editorial in Finansavisen.

He believes it is a derailment of the debate and criticized both VG and E24 for using the same angle in the debate on the bus strike. The editorial ended with “So it was just to turn off the light of the Debate.”

Message to Hegnar

In a Facebook post on Friday afternoon, Fredrik Solvang goes to court with Hegnar.

– I do not agree that “Fredrik Solvang ruined the whole debate by making a mess about what top managers of bus companies earn.” For me, it is not a waste to compare the salary demands of drivers with the millions of salaries of their leaders, Solvang writes, adding:

– It is a fairly common exercise both in journalism and in collective bargaining and ordinary wage struggles.

– Welcome

But at the end of the post, Solvang arrives with a rude message for Hegnar after the infection scandal aboard one of Hurtigruten’s ships. The company’s management has come under fire for unclear messages and disorderly management. They have also been criticized for not answering critical questions.

– And while I have you here, as chairman of the Hurtigruten board of directors, you are warmly welcome at any time to an uncomplicated debate on the handling of the crown in Hurtigruten, writes Solvang.
