Autumn holidays are underway in Oslo, Viken and Agder.
This means that many go to the cabin, the mountain, the field or visit the family. Fall break this year will be something out of the ordinary as we are in the midst of a pandemic, but recently health director Bjørn Guldvog said one should have no qualms about leaving during the fall break.
– For those of you who intend to take a trip to Norway, it is perfectly fine: to travel in the mountains or in the cabin with a clear conscience, said the health director at a press conference.

– As it was okay to have a summer vacation in Norway, now it is okay to have an autumn vacation in Norway. But if you have symptoms, you should stay home, Health Minister Bent Høie said.
See what Guldvog had to say about how Norwegians should take advantage of the fall break:
Therefore, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration expects heavy traffic on the roads after work on Friday afternoon.
– Change tires if necessary
Meteorologists came out on Friday morning and warned motorists about poor driving conditions.
– Are you going to the mountains during the fall holidays? So you need to be careful when you are driving. From night to Saturday and Saturday afternoon, a yellow snow warning was sent over 700-900 meters in southern Norway. Therefore, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has a clear appeal for all who travel on the roads.

– Today the fall holidays begin for many, and we expect a lot of traffic. Follow the weather and drive, and change tires if necessary, writes Vegtrafikkensentralen east on Twitter.
Will not be done
However, if we are to believe in Tryg Forsikring, many will be in for an unpleasant surprise as changing tires is not something most people have in mind at this time of year.
– Many motorists are always surprised by snow on the road and regardless of the tire it is experienced as unusual to drive as it has been a long time since you were last on winter roads. In general, too many people wait too long to switch to winter tires, says communications consultant Torbjørn Brandeggen at Tryg Forsikring.
