– His Majesty King Harald was admitted to Rikshospitalet earlier today, reports the Palace on Friday morning.

The king is on sick leave in connection with admission.

– We currently have no more information than in the press release. The Crown Prince Regent is leading the cabinet today, communications manager Guri Varpe tells NTB.

King Harald and Queen Sonja were supposed to be present at Maihaugen in Lillehammer at 4pm on Friday afternoon, during the celebration that Tuengen allé 1b, which is the queen’s childhood home, has been completed.

It is not yet clear how the event will be affected by admission.

The King was present on Thursday at the Royal Ship’s end-of-season celebration in Oslo, alongside the Queen and the Crown Prince.

VG writes that in the morning hours of Friday there were several ambulances and bodyguards at Bygdøy Kongsgård in Oslo. Two ambulances are said to have headed to Rikshospitalet, where the king is hospitalized, shortly after. (Terms)Copyright Dagens Næringsliv AS and / or our suppliers.
