– What Start has been doing in recent years is one of the weakest I have seen of leadership in Norwegian football, says VIF coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo.

Vålerenga coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo will be a guest on the Eurosport football broadcast on Sunday.

Fagermo was asked about Start’s new signing: Christian Bolaños (36).

-It is a signing with which I completely disagree, Fagermo exclaimed in the transmission.

Chairman of the board Robin Reed at Start En Drøm, the limited company behind the Start initiative, does not want to comment on Fagermo’s proposal.

– Some of the weakest I’ve seen

Bolaños took the Elite Series by storm in his first stint as a starting player just over ten years ago.

Fagermo believes that the signing is an example of the club’s operations in Start, about which he does not have much to say:

– What Start has been doing in recent years is one of the weakest I have seen of leadership in Norwegian football, said Fagermo.

Why?

– Because you’ve burned millions, without getting anything. There was even a decline (in 2018). You don’t even have players that are salable. Why not get fewer, but better players, when you have those resources? Now they have added two players who are nearing retirement age.

In addition to Bolaños, Start has signed Dutchman Mohamed El Makrini. Both came directly into the starting lineup in Start’s game against Kristiansund on Sunday night.
